Our Story
Active Accounting was established in 2015 by Anitha Ramdas with a single, clear mission: to give South African small businesses access to the same quality of financial expertise previously reserved only for large corporations. Starting with a handful of clients in Johannesburg, we built our practice around relationships, not transactions.
Since 2015, we have grown to serve more than 500 businesses across a wide range of industries — from sole traders and freelancers to established SMEs with complex compliance needs. Throughout that growth, our personal approach has never wavered. Every client still gets direct access to their accountant, clear communication, and genuinely proactive advice.
Today, Active Accounting combines cloud-based technology with deep regulatory knowledge to deliver fast, accurate, and fully compliant accounting services. We were early adopters of Xero and digital-first workflows, because we believe technology should make accounting easier and more transparent for clients — not just for accountants.
